Rough Idle

I am new to the forum, if this has been covered I apologise, please point me in the right direction. I have just got my first Toyota, a 2006 Avensis petrel 1.8. The idle does not seem right. I have to say that up until now I have always had diesel cars.

When I start it up in the mornings it revs to about 2100, as soon as it starts to get warm (5-10 mins) it goes to about 800-900 but still fluctuates between 700-900.

I can drive for several hours leave it parked for an hour, start it and it idles again at 2100 until it's warm. It drives fine, just the idle.

Any ideas would be greatly welcomed

Sounds normal. The two I've owned did exactly the same.

Thank you, like I say, my last few cars have been diesel, 15+ years
