Quickshifters...

Dudes and dudettes, I'm looking for a short-throw shift kit for my Yaris 1.3...

The previous owner butchered the OE lever in half with a hacksaw, then jammed a Momo knob over the top. To say the shift is now laboured would be a gross understatement... so before I spend mega-£££ on an oe-gearstick and linkage, what's the options for a nice new short shifter?

i think there is a TRD one available

best bit is to look for ECHO bits from the states. there was a bloke who came on here once who had one

for my life though i cant remember what make it was

Visually, the gear knob's a lot shorter. Physically, it alters the fulcrum point to match the new height and trades a bit of extra effort for a 50-60% shorter 'throw' between gears. Roughly! ;)

P.S. If you're looking for alloys, keep an eye on eBay! I've seen loads of 15" original SR alloys on there recently, going for as little £100 a set.

Also, I got a full set of anthracite O.Z. Formulas with part-worn Toyo Proxies for £102 - they were straight off a Mazda MX-5, but they fitted just lovely! B)

mate i think u may lose to the 1.4 saxo, its a good 3 seconds quicker off the dash than the 1.0 yaris. Its quicker than my SR
