B9012 Navigation System Malfunction

Dear all,
I am owner of a Toyota Avensis HD Navi mod.2009 (t27).
Since last year the navigation system malfunctions.

The heading pointer is unstable on the map, and the map, when the vehicle moves, either spins or drifts left an right, while the coordinates are correct.

My dealer is unable to resolve the problem, and he prompted me to replace it.

Is there any solution to the issue? Since replacing it it is very expensive, and in my opinion, the issue has to do with the software (firmare) itself

Best regards

Almost 7 months have passed sincey post, and no answer yet.

I am afraid that the administrators are not focusing on problems relating to navigation issues

Sorry you did not get a response to your fault. It must be rare for the navigation to be faulty and some probably have been fixed under warranty.

I don't have the Navigation in my car, but have did a bit of research. Is the navigation antenna properly connected or show signs of damage? The dealer should have checked this.

It could have been damaged due to cleaning. You could spend a lot of money on a replacement unit and end up with the same fault!

Dear Konrad

I have already changed the antenna, but the problem is still there.

I would like to ask if, by re-installing the firmware of the unit, it will be functional again? Will the re-installation of the firmware, delet all map data?

Logically it would make sense to reset the unit back to factory and re-install the firmware. If you can get an update, try that.

I have to re-install firmware on my Pure internet radio, due to file corruption.

Hi I also bought the same navigation.
It must probably be the speed antenna or just it need a full restart.

Mabye it will solve the problem if you delete personel data.
