hi all,

i have done a search for this on the forum but found nothing, i am in the process of installing a scorpion car alarm on my starlet, i have wired everything up except the siren and my problem is passing the siren wire through from the passenger compartment into the engine bay.

is there a way to do this without drilling through the bulkhead? I had a look at the factory loom and it is rammed there would be no way i could get my wires through there.

any advice gratefully appreciated.

have a nice day

Hi mate you can also pass the harness from the sir condition pipe which is in front of the passanger seat or from the drivers seat on the right there a gromet as well but you will have to dismantle the mudguar.

Remember to add some liquid soap to be more easy

thanks for the help guys, very much appreciated i will have a look for the grommet on the drivers side.

just one more question while i'm at it, i was going to tap two holes in the side of the engine bay and thread a couple of bolts for my siren, i'm just wondering how the toad/clifford guys did it? did they take the front wing off and drill all the way through? i wasn't quite sure if the steel could take threading as its quite thin.

have a nice day

allrate, thought id drag this up as im currently tryin to fit ma microscan 214 alarm,i need to get wires frm the engine bay to the drivers side, how do the wires go frm the engine bay to insde the air feed, aint had it off to look yet but int the air feed part above the engine bit an at the top of the bonnnet?

hi mate,

the best way i would say if via a bung that toyota have left in the passenger footwell, have a look and there is this rubber thing that is there, just pop it out and your into the engine bay. the route through behind the airfeed on the drivers side is a bit more tricky as the grommet goes above the right front wing and i couldn't get my hands in there.

hope this helps

ive found tht whole which the bonnet wire goes thru, then above the arch is tht the same route which ends up goin thru the air feed bung? if so i see ur point i cant really get inside there:s but the bung ive used on the other side for my power cable fr my amp an it means runin the wire frm my alarm round the engine to the passengers whole then round bak to the drivers windows side....so its alot more wire :s

Thanks you ppl rock!

allrate then...one more question....does ne1 no which fuse the interior lights run on cos i need to put a wire there for ma alarm an none of the fuses are well labled an gd old toyota dnt tell ya in the hand book:s

Cheers folks

i think its the cigarette lighter one.

the easieist way to tell would be to short the connection out on the light, the fuse would blow and you would no which one it is, although this ain't all that good for the wiring.hehe

i went for the longer wire trick, i had to weigh up which was harder, either drilling through the bulkhead or soldering some more wire onto the existing siren loom. i went for the latter!

have a nice day
