Hi, I've just joined this forum so am sorry if I've posted in the wrong area. I've recently bought a Corolla t sport 2002 3 door model last week and when I bought it, it had the engine management light on, the trc off light on, the vsc light on, and the red coolant temp light on but the car was mint! The car has been running sweet and at the time I couldn't see anything majorly wrong with the car so I ended up buying it knowing I had to sort a couple things out on her before I could show her off and in the last week nothing has gone wrong so far fingers crossed! My concerns are that it has a straight through power flow exhaust with a back box, would that make a difference to these lights coming on? My knowledge of cars ain't the best but am going off an old civic I had which when I had a de-cat on, the engine management light would come on because of the O2 sensor. Am planning on removing the exhaust and maybe go back to the standard exhaust system, spoke to a bloke at a exhaust place and he said we could either replace the back box, remove the whole system or add a silencer. Would a standard back box fit the powerflow straight through pipe? Which option would be the best?

I just had the car diagnostics check done today and the bloke resetted the engine management light and the code that came up was P0410 - secondary air injection system malfunction. He also resetted the trc off light and the vsc light, the code that came up for that fault was c1203 E.C.M communication error. Has anybody else come across the same codes or errors?

The only light that could not be resetted was the red coolant temp light but we checked the coolant levels and they seem to be fine without any leaks around the car. We then checked the heaters and they only blow out cold air, no warm air!

The engine runs sweet without any over heating issues and lift kicks in as it should. I checked the oil before I started her this morning and it does look a little thin and runny. Is it still safe to drive?

I want to get her running sweet without that feeling in the back of my head thinking she could break down on me at any time!

Any advice or help would be more then welcome!!!

Thank you!

If anyone knows any garages that could help me in or near Leicester that would also be helpful!

I have a t-sport compressor 06. And the engine management light. Trc and vsc lights are on I've changed all the brake pads and dics as they were slightly worn the lights remain on.

I recently reconditioned my alternator and all of the lights went off, I felt relieved till all the lights popped back up again.

I don't know what it could be..

Any suggestions fire away.

Just used holts radflush 2-step and had the system flushed, seems to have done the trick for the heaters as the car was warm when I I got in and also the red coolant temp light has switched off by itself, awesome!

I've also found a bloke who is breaking a t sport so am going to see him this week to get a secondary air pump, oem back box and straight pipe and few other bits and bobs.

Fingers crossed the pump sorts the rest of the dash lights out (engine management light, vsc and trc off light) and the exhaust system to replace this loud custom one.

From what I've read, I believe either the secondary air pump has corroded internals or the hoses are corroded. That's causing the engine management light to come on which then as a safety future causes the trc off and vsc light to come on. If am wrong could someone advise me as am no mechanic and my knowledge is not the best. I am planning on replacing the secondary air pump and hoses this week so I'll keep everyone posted on what results I get.
