Hi Gary,

Nice car, I had a 57 plate myself.

You need to be aware of the potential head/headgasket issue that can affect these http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=10987. It only affects a small % of cars but it's very expensive to fix out of warranty.

Did you buy your car privately, from a trader or an actual Toyota dealer?

Was bought from Independent garage. Had full toyota service history, has covered 57000 it's 58 plate so back end of that year. I have been reading some of the threads bit worrying.

What websites do you use for ordering your car parts

depends what parts you are after.

There is a member here, PartsKing, who is Lindop Toyota parts dept. & will give you a discount on genuine Toyota parts.

On my 57 plate I found the lights poor so upgraded those (I went with Philips X-treme Vision) & also found the brakes uninspiring so when they needed replaced anyway I went with MTEC disks & Ferodo Premier pads which brought a noticeable improvement imo. Other brands are available :P

If you just bought your car then hopefully you are covered by the new consumer regs rather than the old but all the same it may be worth considering a Toyota Extended Warranty (especially if the "2 for 1" offer is still on). It also includes Toyota Roadside Assistance (currently handled by the AA) which is £72 on it's own.
