Steering Wheel Controls

Hello Everyone,
I have been trying to fit an android headunit into my T27 for a couple of days now because of waiting for pieces.
What works so far is:

boots up

GPS
Sound through all Speakers

Right now I'm waiting for an adapter for the antenna.
Now what I'm a little confused about is, how I'll get the steering wheel controls to work on my new unit.

I've seen solutions like Axxess' aswc-1, but I find it too expensive. The stereo came with a ISO cable so i had to buy a adapter for that aswell but the cable from the stereo has a few loose cables and i know these are for steering controls (GND, Key1, Key2)
Now my real question is where and how do i connect these cables best(if it is possible of course)?

Thx in advance

jack

So The unit that i bought is this one:

http://www.autopumpkin.com/pumpkin-universal-7-inch1024-600-touchscreen-quad-core-android-4-4-double-din-car-stereo-gps-navigation-system-support-3g-wifi-obd2.html

This cable runs out of the radio into the ISO adapter that i bought: 7%20inch%20universal%20car%20stereo%2020

Iso adaptor: https://be01.cp-static.com/objects/high_pic/0/06a/566924_kabeladapters-verloopstukjes-hq-2x-radio-2x-car-iso-toyota.jpg

the cables that you're talking about does not bring up many search results, I'm afraid. Or I might be looking in the wrong places.

The company site from the unit isn't much help either. So any help into getting my steering wheel controls to work is much apreciated!

Ty in advance

If you source the leads I quoted in my previous reply, you should be okay. I am using the Toyota to ISO lead and Sony to ISO to connect my head unit and Novero handsfree system. No cutting and splicing of cables. All plug and play.

The Pumpkin has a great spec. I cannot access the manual without registering, and then get bombarded with junk mail! I want to see the steering remote interface socket, as it may need only universal plug to the Pumpkin to Toyota. Again I quoted the part number.

I would like to see the completed installation.

Konrad C could you please send me a link of the stalk adapter you're talking about. I want to be sure if I order this.
As far as the manual of the unit I have no clue what you're talking about (I don't think there is one) . I don't think there is a remote interface socket on the radio. I'm sorry, not really car tech savvy here I guess.
I will post pictures of the unit once installed.
Thank you for your help so far though!

You need to looking in your local market as you are NonUK/other. You may not be able to purchase from the UK and it may be cheaper to buy local than UK!

This is Pumpkins home site:

http://www.autopumpkin.com/car-dvd-players/pumpkin-universal-7-inch1024-600-touchscreen-quad-core-android-4-4-double-din-car-stereo-gps-navigation-system-support-3g-wifi-obd2.html

The function to download the manual does not work. I get a shipping page! I wanted to see the rear of the unit to know what the connections are. This will help give the correct advice.

I have quoted the generic cable adapters.

This is Connects2 UK site and the Toyota section:

http://www.connects2.co.uk/VehicleProducts.aspx?Manufacturer_ID=59&Model_ID=183

The following subsections:

http://www.connects2.co.uk/VehicleProducts.aspx?Manufacturer_ID=59&Model_ID=183

http://www.connects2.co.uk/VehicleProducts.aspx?Manufacturer_ID=59&Model_ID=183

I would get the CT23TY12 facia adapter for the T27.

This is Autoleads who supplies the cables I use: http://my.page-flip.co.uk/?userpath=00000013/00012513/00078974/

Go to page 110.

PC2-17-4 Toyota to ISO adapter cable - connects the Pumpkins cable to the car.

PC99-209 Toyota stalk adapter

PC5-166 Antenna adapter

Nexxia is a good UK based seller: http://www.nexxia.co.uk/products.asp?s=Car%20Audio&c=Connects2%20Car%20Audio

If I was going to install the Pumpkin, everything I list above would be on my shopping list.

All you have to do is contact Pumpkin and see what is needed. All cables are plug and play so should not need splicing, so long as the industry standard is followed.

Do searches quoting the underlined names and numbers. Show this to somebody more technical, and they will confirm if advice is correct.

There are units for Toyota but not for the Avensis. You will have to get the generic unit, and the adapter cables and facia. I may stand corrected.

There are lots of aftermarket systems for those who want to upgrade. I added USB/Bluetooth(audio playback/2nd phone) to my audio system, and that is enough for me.

I ordered a stalk adapter cable and I have a DIY fix for the fascia. Once I get everything I will reassemble my Dashboard and show you how it looks like.
Thanks alot for your time and help!
