Airbag Light On

Hi,i drive a 10 plate avensis 2.0 tourer,when i started it this morning the airbag light came on and stayed on,i brought it over to my machanic and he put it onto his diagnostics and it showed up a sensor,because he was so busy he said if i dropped over monday he would have a proper look at it.he said it was coming from a right side of the car but which one??,have any on you avensis lads or ladies had trouble with airbag lights.......Thanks

most likely be the connection under the seat, Check underneath to see if its catching on anything, if not I would take it off and spray contact cleaner on both ends and reconnect.

Ok.i have tried that.took it out and cleaned it.and put it back.but the airbag light stayed on.would i need to put it on the cumputer to reset it.

S0rry lads for the late reply,full on with work so not getting mush time on the pc,anyway,dropped my avensis tourer back over to my machanic last week to sort out the airbag light,it turned out to be a crash sensor just at the back of the right headlight,my machanic said this controls the airbags in the car if its in a major crash.he orders the part as it was faulty[,he switched over the sensor from the left hand side of the car and it worked,he then put it back on the cumputer and it showed the left hand side sensor was gone,]the sensor arrived the next day and he fitted it and the airbag light went out,so alls good now,thanks for your help..
