Did start normally but now, it cranks over once or twice and stops. If I hold the key in the ingition place it makes a noise as if somthings trying to move but it wont. If I hold it there longer another noise comes up but as this is happening all lights on the dash go out and the airbag light flashes the same time as the noise happens.

Hope someone can help a little before I call a mechanic.

Welcome to T.O.C., David.

Is there "juice" in the Battery?. This is approaching the time of year tired batteries fail. If that is the problem and yours is "goosed", the replacement for a pre face lift Gen 7 is a 005.

Right, If the noise when you're starting it is a clicking sound with the dash light flickering, it's not enough power to the starter motor. Either a bad Battery or your alternator isn't charging the Battery.

100% sure it is either one of these. Try getting a jump, I am sure it will start with a jump. Leave it running, and disconnect the jumper cables. If it cuts out / dash lights up, then the alternator isn't charging the Battery.

Best way would be to jump it, and then stick a volt meter on the battery terminals, if it shows ~14v then the alternator is working, if it shows 12v or less, then the alternator is bad.

Either way, not a big issue and seriously not worth a call out for a mechanic.
