Oil On Alternator

Hi all,

I am new to the site so would like to say Hi.

I have noticed that I am getting a small amount of oil in the alternator area on my 2006 avensis 2.2 d4d. the oil seems to be on the securing bolt mainly. I have had a look but can not see where it might be coming from and it is well compact in that area.

I would like to ask if anyone has had this before and if so what it was that leaked and what could leak oil in that area??

Thanks in advance

There are a variety of places, including sump, rocker cover, head gasket, turbo oil Fred and return pipes. You'll need to inspect closer with a flashlight to tell. Taking the under tray off and inspecting from underneath may help you out if you have ramps available.
