Prius+ Excel+

I've just taken delivery of a new Prius+ Excel+ and returned my old Prius+ T4. Some nice features in the new model but miss the panoramic roof. On the new model the buttons on the steering wheel have changed quite a bit, no longer can you change temp from the steering wheel for instance, no great loss. What is a bit of a loss is the HUD is now really basic, and this is a top of the range model. As far as I can work out, it now only displays speed. Previously it had the touch tracer stuff, in the brochure it also shoed it displaying nav details but it seems it can do none of that, maybe I am missing something?

The car also comes with a pair od DVD players mounted in the new docks on the back of the seats. Great, I thought. There is not manual supplied for them just a pair of headphones. It was stated in the brochure that they could be removed and used separately from the car, but they have an odd 12v power input and no adapter is supplied so I have no way of powering them when removed, unless the adapters have not been delivered with the car. Should there be some? What is also frustrating is that it appears the output of these units does not play through the car radio, only through the headphones. When there are 5 kids in the back 2 headphones are not going to cut the mustard. Either I am missing something here (which with no manual could be the case) or Toyota have chosen to not make such a facility available.

Other than the above (which I am hoping someone has a solution) the car is very good. The internet connectivity with Google search and the traffic alerts is excellent, the radar cruise control is very nice too. Glad to see Toyota have finally given us auto headlights, something missing from my old T4 variant. I wish Toyota would put some felt lining in the glove boxes to ease any rattles there, surely that is just a few pennies for them? The new 4.2 inch info screen is also a fantastic addition.
