Replacement Exhaust System For My '99 1.8 Gs Avensis

Bonjour Each,

Well, after 195,000 miles my exhaust has popped a leak around the front flange near the cat. - they just don't make 'em like they used to eh?! I live permanently in France now and a replacement system is silly money - over 1000€. I can get one sent out from one of the UK on-line suppliers for around £250, but before ordering I thought I'd check with you fellas to see if there are any cautionary observations, e.g. I approached three different websites by e-mail for a price and the same guy replied? Any thoughts welcome, please, thanks.

Can you post the links to the sites you saw.

The cost of replacement exhaust in the UK is £120, and they are from after market suppliers EuroFlo or React/Klarius.

The quality is okay. I had the React/Klarius combo, but changed it to EuroFlo. The rear silencer of the Klarius had a different shape and this caused it to touch the under shield at the rear on occasions. The EuroFlo rear is much better, but I had to make a slight adjustment with the cat', as it touched the underside where the mount passed close to the subframe.

The maker of original exhaust Walker would be worth a look if they kept the price down without sacrificing quality. There is a sporty sound, but inside the car all is mostly smooth and quiet.

The guy attached a schematic of the system and the hook-up on the rear silencer looks different to my original.
