Replacing Factory Head Unit, Auris 2011

Hello and greetings from Finland!

I'm planning to replace the OEM head unit of my Auris to Pioneer AVH-X2700BT. I've ordered the following adaptors and facia trim panel:

  • Connects2 CT23TY06 - 2DIN Fascia Kit (black). I wonder how this fits my cars interior..
  • Connects2 CTSTY001.2 - Steering Wheel Stalk Adaptor (20 pin). I suppose that's the correct one and not the CTSTY002.2 (28 pin) because the HU/steering wheel doesn't have the phone button support. Am I right?
  • Connects2 CTPIONEERLEAD - Pioneer Stereo Patch Lead.

Is this all I need? Or are these the correct ones?

I want to retain the OEM USB port in the glove box. Do you have any experience about the following cables?

Metra AX-TOYUSB-2: http://www.metraonline.com/part/AX-TOYUSB-2

Metra AX-TOYUSB: http://www.metraonline.com/part/AX-TOYUSB

Or can I replace the factory USB/AUX port module with this:

Metra AX-USB-35EXT: http://www.metraonline.com/part/AX-USB-35EXT

My car is Toyota Auris 1.6 Valvematic Sol Edition 2011.

Thanks!

I work for Halfords, and the cage kits can be a pain in the ****, however, With double din stereos, you just use the old brackets that are on the current stereo (they interchange (best thing about jap cars)). On the new stereo there will be holes in the side with a t above them, this is the holes for Toyota cars. The patch lead and steering wheel controls look correct. Not sure about usb though as mine didn't have that to start with.

Thank you for your reply!

So from that facia kit I need only the facia adaptor? Maybe I should order Autoleads DFP-11-12 to get only the facia adaptor and not the extra brackets, cage etc.

Your research seems very good.

I was in two minds about upgrading the audio on my Avensis TR Tourer, and went down this route:

http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/169513-added-usbbluetooth-adaptor-to-w53828-in-avensis-mk3/

http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/tutorials/article/50-how-to-add-usb-adapter-to-avensis-t27-with-w53828-cd-stereo/

This adapter works with all Toyota's. There are two versions - one with bluetooth if you need it, the other without.

Since you have already ordered the new audio unit and the cables, you are on the right lines. I used plastic trim tools to help not scratch and mark the trim.

I look forward to seeing pictures of your install.

I just installed the new head unit. There are few pics: http://imgur.com/a/FZsYH

Though, I ordered CT23TY25 (Dark grey) and CT23TY06 (black) from the local dealer, but I got CT23TY25 (Dark grey) and CT23TY26 (silver). I'm thinking to return those facia adaptors and get the black one.

I also need the aerial adaptor as you can see from pictures. Any suggestion?
