Clutch Replacement

Recommended Posts

We have had our IQ since May 2010 Mileage just over 35,000.

This weekend the clutch failed.

I have heard that the early 2010 manufactured perhaps in 2009 had problems with life expectancy of the clutch and since Toyota have modified the parts.

If anyone can help with links or evidence that would be great

Aygo yes these had an issue with premature clutch wear but the fix was to fit the larger clutch used in all the other 1.0 engined cars ( e.g IQ, Yaris etc ) there have only been two recognised issues with the IQ clutch:

1. Release bearing wear causing noise, release bearing modified

2. Squealing noise caused by clutch cover resonance, Clutch cover modified

The friction plate is the same part from start to end of UK production.
