Cannot Enter The Complete Postcode

Just bought a 2013 Yaris hybrid and facing a real issue using the in-built sat nav. I just cannot enter the post code i need. The other day i tried to enter SG11BE.

The max i could enter is SG1 1. After that it doesnt allow me to enter rather it asks me to select from 3 options which does not have the one i need.

Anybody know how to resolve this problem?

Assuming you have Touch & Go Plus, there are a few options.

  1. Have you updated the software/Maps? I don't know if it's the same on the Yaris, but my 2012 Prius with T&G+ came with 3 years' free map updates. Shortly after getting the car, I did an update, and it too went from 7 digit to 5 digit postcodes, but a later update went back to 7, so it's possible an update may fix this (but never a guarantee!)
  2. Can you do it by entering the Town and Street name instead of using postcode?
  3. You can (advanced menu) pick a point on the map and navigate to there (if you'll want to go there again, save it as a destination)
  4. If your phone does data tethering, you could find it on a PC/tablet and 'send' the destination to your SatNav via the Internet

You must put a space after the SG1 to be able to put in 1BE. I suspect you were trying SG11BE rather than SG1 1BE, and got as far as SG11?

That would probably be it... I seem to recall going through this on another thread at some point.
