Dab Radio

Hi Liam

I have a radio Broadcast studio at home and i stream my own radio station using Jazler playout server. Its on the Tunein app platform. Another reason not to use Dab. The Government/ Ofom dictate what they will alllow you to listen to, where as with streaming there are some amazing original stations out there. Not just the 200 songs that the likes of Heart and Smooth Radio have in their database. If you listen to one days output then you haveheard every song they have. They Are nearly all run by GLOBAL. Check them out.

The way forward to protect your sanity is to stream as Liam says.

Sorry to keep throwing cold water on DAB but as the contributer "Murgatroid" says in the review, it is not a superior sound quality. FM wins hands down on frequency response alone as i have stated on previous posts. Also the second model down from their review requires you to use a remote control as therei s no screen control, how will the hands free brigade see that. Also a lot of these adaptors rely on the output of the DAB adaptor to re-encode the audio into an FM signal with poor stereo seperation 40db instead of a true Broadcast Transmitter at greater than 70db's. Then as i have said before you have to find a spare FM frequency between 87.5 and 108 mhz. That spare frequency which may be ok in Norwich but as you travel that one will be used by a Broascaster. If they are stating a superior quality over FM then how does that work when they are using a poor FM encoder to get it on your radio. Its Goverments con along with the manufacturers.

Thank you everyone. You've all been really helpful.

I do like the look of the pure 300di. Anyway I'm going to find out a bit more about it

Again thanks all.
