Hand Brake Inoperative Messaage

Avensis 09 T4 estate, has been stood for 6 weeks, came to start, no joy got dash message "handbrake inoperative" this model has an auto hand brake, when I started the car 6 weeks ago no problem, except the hand brake was difficult to drive through at first. I suspect that it is siezed again. any ideas on what to do. Toyota agents say bring the car to us we will sought it, how the heck do I do that if the hand brake wont release? All sugestions welcome. Mick

you can release the epb with the emergency tool provided with the car.

If the actuator needs replaced you are looking at £1000+.

PROBLEM SOLVED. Just had to wait until the Battery was fully charged, the sat nav and reverse camera are now also working after the on board computor reset itself. Looks like LISTERS in Coventry and Nueaton were only wanting me to bring the car in, by whatever means so they could charge an inflated amount "for the repair"
