Alarm Going Off When I Open The Door.

Hi,

I am having some issues with my alarm all of a sudden on my 7 Gen Celica.

This morning I used the key fob to unlock it and when I opened the door the alarm went off.

I tried this several times and still it goes off.

I needed to get to work so I sat in the car and waited for it to stop and then started the car so I could get to work, however as soon as I got out the alarm went off again.

The blinking red light (Security light) was a solid light whilst the car was started, however I am not sure if it normally is?

Any ideas what this could be?

When you take the key out the light blinks, this lets you know the immobiliser is working, once the key is inserted into the ignition the light stops blinking.

I'm not sure what could be causing the issue with the alarm

Hey mate.

Thanks for the reply.

Had an auto elec come out.

At first he thought it was knackered then when he opened the alarm box it was soaked.

We have had high winds with driving rain for days and water got in.

He dried it and put it all togetherness and worked again!
