I have just been given a used I phone 4 by my son. It has a charging cable with USB connection. Is it OK to charge the phone from the USB connection in the Prius centre consul.

I have read that leaving the charging cable in the USB connection flattens the 12v Battery!!

Any information appreciated.

Yes it is OK to leave the cable attached to the USB socket as the socket and Entertainment system are turned off when you power down the car.

If you take the phone with you when you leave the car then NO power can be drawn anyway.

Never had a 12v go flat as a result of constantly leaving my iPod plugged in.

Thanks for replies.

Just got to get the phone unlocked I have just had to pay £40 for this to be done; I am informed it will take up to 15 working days to unlock the phone. Then I have to remove my current phone and pair the I phone to the Prius. I am beginning to wonder if it is worth the hassle!!

Assuming your 2014 has Touch & Go Plus you can pair more than one phone, although I believe only one can be linked at once.

I've got three set up on mine, and whichever is switched on and noticed first gets the link. You can go into a menu and link to a different one if necessary.
