Can I Get Freeview Installed On On 2014 Hybrid Screen?

Looking to see if I can get freeview installed or videos from my mobile to play on the standard screen, anyone done it?

The only Freeview App I've come across is just a TV guide.

[sOT] funnily enough, my 2011 Yaris T-Spirit played DVDs on the centre screen - sound inside the car was awesome!

You only got a picture if both stationary AND handbrake applied, otherwise you got blue screen and sound.

Useful when waiting for people though, wish my (newer, more expensive) Prius did that!

My chinese OEM unit plays DVDs. Very handy when you have to wait in the car for any length of time. Also has analogue TV (not much use now though). There is a socket for an external video source so I guess it could be used to hook it up to a freeview box.

Okay you have to do that now. Get a big ol' house aerial and one of those old Freeview boxes that is the size of an old VCR and put them on the top of the dash and hook it up and take a photo!

Hmm, but it has an analogue TV input? I could plug my C64 or my Amiga into it!

(This is actually a potential issue for me atm as my TV doesn't support analogue RF inputs! I'm just glad it still has a SCART socket...!)

Yes, the analogue TV tuner is built in and it has a 75ohm TV aerial socket on the back. So old games consoles could be plugged in.

You would get sound as well. :)

If you had a freeview box with RF output, that could be hooked up.

Maybe I could put an aerial socket on the dash.

I feel a project coming on.

Hi, I use an Amazon Fire Stick and have freeview, netflix and Amazon prime vids, as others have said the sound is available all times but video only when hand/foot brake is applied.
