2007 2.2L Diesel Alternator Replacement

I need to replace the alternator on wifey's 2007 2.2L diesel XT5, I intend to change the belt at the same time, I need to know how to release the tension on the belt to remove it. Can anyone advise please?

Failing that if you type in Alternator Belt Replacement in the search box at the top R/H of the page you'll find others.
