Hi all. Looking for a bit of advice. My 2006 verso started to struggle to start about 4 weeks ago. It's slowly got worse over the last few weeks to the point where it wouldn't start. I've just put it in the garage. The garage has said it's showing no fault but replaced the Battery. The car now starts after 5 seconds but I reckon it's going to happen again. The garage say it may be worth replacing the starter motor????

If it's a 1CD-series engine (I think it is for that age) there is a known issue with the starter motor but it usually only shows up when you try to start the car when it's hot.

The fix for that is to replace the starter motor with a revised unit from Toyota (Part number is the same as the original)

afaik it will be 2AD series in that car.

How many miles on it?

Has the Battery ever been replaced?
