Yaris Corrosion 3 Years Old

I have the same problem on a 2015 yaris. We bought it second hand recently and didn't notice the rust until now. I first thought it was light surface rust but on lifting the rubber grommet its looks much worse.

I'm going to take it to a Toyota garage this week to see if they will address it under the corrosion warranty.

If they won't cover it how easy is it to remove and put back the rubber grommet so I can properly access and treat the area?

As with the previous post the 12 year corrosion warranty doesn't cover surface rust, but corrosion from inside out (perforation). Surface rust would have been covered under the 'paint and surface rust' warranty.

I guess in that case it's out of warranty. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the rubber to treat it?

If you bought it from a garage within the last six months, you should have some recompense from the garage you bought it from under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. See 'the first six months' section of: https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-rights-act
