Hello And Help All In One Post! !

stuck in Scotland

Hello ladies and gentlemen, hope you all had a good Christmas! !!!

I have joined this forum on behalf of my Mrs who's ultra reliable rav4 that's never ever let us down did just that on Christmas eve 120 miles into a 380 mile journey when the death rattle started in the turbo as I drove merrily along the m6.

As soon as I heard it I knew what was going on and pulled into the services 1.5 miles away luckily.

I got transported to Scotland at the cost of £517 as I had the turkey and all the drink and was not going to miss christmas dinner!!!

So anyway,we're here, the rav is down the local garage till the reopen on Tuesday coming and I am struggling to source a turbo as everywhere ive tried is shut till after christmas.

If I can get a turbo up here then it can be fitted and we can get home!!!!!

So I'm wondering if anyone can point me on the direction of a company that can help! !

My little girl doesn't want to go home cos she loves it here but when I said who's going to feed your pony she began to panic!!!!!

The pony is sorted , just in case you wondered!!!!

Thanks in advance.

Liam

Hello Liam - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

If you could indicate what part of Scotland you're stranded in, that may help as regards recommendations of local companies who may be able to supply a turbo - for example.

Flooding in Creetown? Nearest Toyota dealer will be Border Cars in Dumfries (or Carlisle) or Arnold Clark in Ayr.

Creetown is on the River Cree (hence name) & it's in an area where flooding is, shall we say not unknown. ;) Was just enquiring as to local conditions as I believe there are warnings in effect for D&G.

Given that it cost him £500+ to get it trailered to destination maybe next year Toyota Roadside Assistance at £72 would be worth his investment.

Spot on mate, ill make sure the Mrs gets it , it's her rav! !!

My oldest buddy from school has lived in creetown for 13 years and integrated in very nicely.

According to the locals there are just three houses that get flooded but it has not happened in a very long time as the A75 rerouting helped!!!

its normally.when yhe ride is in that the water.backs.up but once the ride goes out the water goes quickly! !!!
