I need to remove my clock cluster on my rav 4.2 ,but can,t seem to pull the cluster out far enough to remove the two main connector blocks .

anyone done this job before, and have any advice how to get the unit a bit further out.

Hi Diannie have you removed the two covers on the steering column as this should give enough room to allow the cluster to drop down enough to get to the speedo cable which is most probably what is stopping you pulling the lot towards you. This can be relieved by unscrewing it.

no the covers you mention are not the problem my column is adjustable and is no where near the clocks .also i cant see the speedo being a problem as this is not like the old fashion solid cable but a wire connection.

is there enough slack in the two main looms to allow me to pull the unit clear.?
