The man was a legend.

That is sad news, I was following the V8 Brutes Aussie Pick-Up racing he was commentating on last year. He was ill @ Goodwood last year wasn't he.

Sheene was definately one of the greats, there was a reunion race at goodwood in which he participated on the old bikes I believe last year and the welcome he got was amazing...

It's always sad when one of the true greats passes on....

What a TOP bloke. Barry Sheene always got up when he fell off. I rember his wins when I was a kid watching the bikes on tv. His strength carried him on but Cancer was something even this great British hero couldn't beat. R.I.P.

Barry was one of my my shoolboy heroes back in the 70s, another motorsport hero gone to that big paddock in the sky, RIP.
