Im going to buy an Oil Temp and Oil Pressure gauge soon to calm my paranoid fears of things going kaboom. But ive been told its better to go for digital Oil Pressure+Temp gauge as you dont really want oil spurting into the cabin if your in an accident or if it comes loose so its better to buy digi uns. Is this true or is he talking king kongs ding dongs?

erm .. does the water temp guage really have water pouring out the back ??

It'll be a thermostat and then an electronic signal sent to an analogue style guage, or a digital style guage ..

Oh and be careful .. if your speedo stops working you'll have lots of speed falling out the back of the dial like I did.

Luckily it was in kmph not mph so didn't make as much mess ..

A bit like comparimg apples and pears. Digital refers to the type of display on the gauges (ie numbers) and mechanical describes the way the gauge gets it's signal. I assume you are comparing electrical and mechanical gauges - go for electrical every time. The sensor will be in the engine compartment and you will only have cables running into the passenger compartment - running these is much easier than tubes.

But I don't want hot oil being sprayed on me when the tube fails :D :P

does this mean in a crash time can fall out through the clock ??? Could be beneficial as if enough time falls out you wouldn't have had the crash you just had.
