I own a 2012 facelift Tourer which has H11 bulbs in the dipped beam light units. I can only describe the lighting performance as extremely poor.

Any suggestions how to get a real white light to make night journeys safer?

change the bulb.

I believe that Toyota dealers may now stock upgraded bulbs & they used to fit for free if you bought the bulbs from them.

Osram (Nightbreakers series) & Philips (in H11, Vision series) tend to win the comparative tests.

You may well find that you just end up with a brighter pattern rather than enlarging the pattern (my experience on my T25, my T27 has HIDs), this would be down to light design.
