Rear View Camera Upgraded?

Have the missing guidance lines been added to the 2016 Aygo camera ?

The video on the Toyota website suggests that they have.

If that is the case, can those of us stuck with the fairly useless "lineless" version be upgraded ?

if an upgrade isnt available and if the lines are fixed why couldn't you use a piece of clear

self adhesive window film and put your own lines onto the film therefore the outcome will be the same

or just buy an after market system instead,i am sure you can find which of the cables is for video

so the image will stil appear on the screen

Because.....

I'm not sure the lines are physical objects.. They may be software generated.

Attaching something to the lens would probably be out of focus, not have the correct perspective and be a nightmare to calibrate with any degree of accuracy.

Rather than take a screwdriver and hacksaw to my new car I'd rather Toyota had thought a bit about how this would work in the real world and included the lines in the original implementation of the rear view camera so it was an effective parking aid.

It is however useful to check there are none of my chickens behind me as I reverse out....... So all is not entirely lost..
