It ticks all the boxes (I want space, comfort and reliability) but the oil burning stories worry me. Will this car be problematic or is it a good buy?

Any advice much appreciated.

I don't know at this point. Ideally I'm looking for an Avensis but I haven't found a good one close to me yet. I need to buy this month so I'm now looking at the Corolla Verso. Did Toyota fix the oil consumption problem, meaning some cars are ok?

Reportedly fixed during 2005 but there are some reports of 06 plates still having the same.
