No Sound Coming From Cd Player When Trying To Play A Disc

I don't use the CD player on my 2014 mk1 Aygo very often but in the past two months I've tried playing two discs in the CD player and they appear to start playing but there is no sound. The radio works and the ipod connectivity is fine. I've tried both discs in my laptop and the sound works then so I'm not sure its the discs.

I presume the warranty will cover these things or at least Mr T will look at the radio/cd player without charge?

Are they discs which are compatible with the Aygo's sound system? Your owners manual should confirm which are compatible.

if the cd's have mp3's files burnt on the disc then they wont play ,well except silently

they're ordinary MP3 CDs, bought as a proper audiobook so not burnt on manually

had a look at the manual and if I were to play with a USB stick it accepts MP3 format for audio. For CD disc types its quite vague and doesn't mention MP3 discs

On page 199 of the owner's manual, it says that MP3/WMA discs on either CD-R or CD-RW are compatible.

problem is the writing on the discs are vague as well and just says MP3 CD

we had this issue with our aygo and it didn't matter how the disc was created or the make / colour of disc they still wouldn't play we gave up in the end.

yeah I don't mind playing discs in the car because I can hide them from prying eyes. Had a look at the files on the laptop and there is no reason why it can't play them. Might just have to transfer the files to a memory stick and use that via the USB connection

Right, ordered some blank CD-Rs and collecting them from Tesco tomorrow. Last ditch attempt to use discs.
