Starlet Engine

i have a starlet which i am putting an 18rg in, my mate wanted something similar but didnt want to do the modifications etc to put a motor like that in so hes bought a rwd starlet with no rot £300, it went straight through the mot too. he now wants to put in the 1300 (4k i think) in and work on it a bit, hopefully 100hp ish. does anyone know of a good place to get the motor and what can be done to it to make it move- like cams, carbs etc and what power to expect and prices. or if theres any other easy options for engines, ive heard lite aces are the same series. any help would be much appreciated.

Yeah, i've heard lite ace engine will go straight in without problem, as its the same series as the Starlet engines & being out of a van should have loads more torque than the starlet as well. Believe it to be a 5k engine (1486cc I think) Thats what I'm doing to one of mine anyway! Cams & bits seem to be hard to come by for the starlets, so seems cheapest option for more power
