Struggling To Start On Cold Mornings

I have a 2008 RAV 4 Diesel with 80k on the clock, The last couple of years on very cold mornings it struggles to fire up. It is still on the original Battery but the blue indicator light showing things are ok is still on. I did hear about possible fuel supply problems being the cause.

I was thinking about connecting up my CTEK Battery conditioner but last time i tried it was showing an error? Should I disconnect the ground terminal and open up vents on the batterry as the manual suggests before trying to connect the conditioner?

If it turns over ok then I would go for a new set of glow plugs, probably after 80,000 could do with a new set.

At 8 years old I would have the Battery tested first, free at Halfords I think.

You could also try switching on the ignition to warm the glow plugs then switch off before trying to start.
