Water In My Parking Sensor Box

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a 2012 Aygo Fire, my reversing sensors have been working perfect until recently....We have had a lot of heavy rain and water has managed to get into the box for my parking sensors...Has anyone else had the same problem with their Aygo's :)

are they factory fitted or aftermarket ?? if they are aftermarket make sure the installation of the sensors hasn't caused the water to leak into the car

if its due to the toyota factory fitted water leaks let toyota deal with it and get them to repair / fix the parking sensors if they have been ruined due

to ingress of water.

They are factory fitted....contacted the garage where I bought the car...a toyota Dealer Who Said It's Not Covered By My WARRANTY

how is the water getting to the box as this is surely an issue that requires sorting out,

toyota have a 5 year g/tee against water leaks on the aygo so if your car is leaking from a

part that is covered by the extended g/tee it should be repaired and any damaged caused

should also be put right

the extended g /tee covers leaks from

rear lights

high level brake light

vents behind rear bumper

rubber stop for tail gate glass

water pump

and maybe more

Thank you for that. I have discovered the floor in my boot is damp too so water has come in from somewhere...I will be on phone to garage again first thing tomorrow

when we had our 09 plate we had to claim under the extended guarantee, toyota supplied

the modified rear light seals and replaced the water pump as they said it was sounding noisy.

your toyota dealer should take the car in and do some water testing, they will photograph any leaks

and send the images to toyota and they will say yes / no its a pretty quick process.

Ok thank you for the Information. ...its really appreciated

As it is a 2012 Aygo, the car should be covered under Toyota's five year/100,000 mile new car warranty.

Thank you....my partner going to do a water test on the back of my car to see if we can see where the water is coming in....then Ill get in touch with garage....I have checked the re at of my car but all is dry...hopefully it's just contained to the boot

I had the same problem on my 2012 Fire last week. I booked it into the dealers on Monday and they had it for the day and said its the boot seal and they cant get one until 21st Jan. From reading other posts on here I think it may be the rubber boot stop on the right hand side as this is appear to be the area where the leak is coming from.

We shall see on the 22nd when I get the new seal fitted, until then I have taken out the boot carpet and have a bath towel in the boot, not good for a 3 year old car with only 8,000 miles :(

Father in law washed my car today and looks like water coming in thru rear lights at passenger side of car....lifted carpet and it's soaked ...on the phone to garage first thing in morning

Posted

get back to the dealer asap and show them the water in the boot area

and obviously mention the fact that toyota water leak has now ruined the

parking sensor control box

Posted

Yeah ill get in touch with them tomorrow

Got in touch with the garage this morning, they are taking my car in for 3 days to strip it out and sort the leaks....the garage is very busy at the moment ( with cars coming in with leaks)so its not till the 23rd feb :( :( They will fix the leaks under the warranty but even tho my sensors stopped working die to the leaks they will not fix them under the warranty!!!!

So lets hope for lots of dry weather till the 23rd Feb :)
