saw this on ebay whats the opinions guys?

No its not a joke but DONT do it. We have discussed electric s/chargers before now and the consensus is dont bother. What worries me is that these s/c's are 60 odd quid to buy, so basically this e-bay seller is selling roughly no more than £150 worth of kit for nearly £350 :o :o :o

Seen it before in a thread a few weeks ago, really cant see how it could work. The only thing I can think is that it means the engine doesn't have to "SUCK" quite so hard to get its air in allowing it to breathe easier like when you fit an induction kit. This being the case ANYTHING that doesn't restrict airflow but reduces the negative induction pressure will give improved power to some extent. Seems very expensive though, I'm sure they weren't that much before, must be a very expensive cone filter he's supplying with it :eek:

There is no reason why devices like this shouldn't give you a reasonable gain in power. It's only a mild effect, and they do make this clear on the website if you look. They have also provided plausible mathematical and empirical proof.

Just thought i would tell you guys that the supercharger on a jaguar xkr NEEDS 80 BHP just to run the thing - it gives you an idea of how much power you need to run a decent supercharger and these guys are doing it from a 12 vault Battery - HMMMMMMMMM!!! :D :D :D :D :D

Big load of donkey poo! Funny how this very technical description didnt end up on their site :P

They use all these big words to sell what is basicly an induction kit with a big PC case fan attatched to it

It seems clear that you haven't read the text and/or have no grasp of fluid dynamics and mathematics.

They are not claiming anything earth shattering here, just 1 psi increase. Such an increase would also be possible by running a straight pipe to your intake and driving at 120 mph.

 Yeah, really sorry about that mate, not having a grasp on fluid dynamics, how lax of us. I merely point out AGAIN that this person is taking the p*** with what he's asking.

BTW I looked into getting one of these a few weeks ago and started a thread about it, I also talked to people I know and was advised by someone who tried it, "It's crap, save your money" That bundle that matey is selling - 99.9% of any improvement comes from the forced air induction.

How terrible for you

Just because it looks like a glorified computer fan doesn't mean that it won't do a job. If it flows the amount of air as he says (look on their website), and assuming that your ECU maps are able to adjust fuelling appropriately then there is no reason this shouldn't give the gains he is talking about. THEY ARE SMALL GAINS, the manufacturers say as much, they aren't claiming 50 bhp.

It's relatively easy to flow a reasonable amount of air at low pressure. This fan is 791W or around 1 hp. Now that is a fairly chunky fan, which leads me to suspect that it is quite capable of pushing the cfms at that 1/2 psi pressure.

However I wouldn't buy it as I already have a compressor attached to my intake B) But if I was running a N/A car I would certainly set up a cold air feed with a ram from the front bumper. And if I felt so inclined perhaps get a fan of comparable spec to this eRam thing for about 20 quid second hand from an industrial scrappy.

The point I was trying to make djdna2000 is they are marketing the THING as a SUPERCHARGER when if i went into a shop and asked for the cheapest 1 I would still get better performance from it than anything that ran off the Battery !!

They need to market it as something else and then people wouldn’t take the ***** so much!

Also does anyone actually know how insignificant 1psi is ??? atmospheric pressure is 14psi technically an engine runs at 14psi so what difference does 1 psi actually make

Sooo stop with the mathematical and empirical proof and implying that everyone cant read when really your the only one that is not reading between the lines and realizing that its a load of *******

I think you are missing the point somewhat - they explain EXACTLY what it does, no wool is being pulled over anyone's eyes. It is up to you to buy it. It is effectively a supercharger, in that it pressurises intake air. It doesn't add much pressure, and the results are correspondingly small. It's not a top fuel dragster unit that requires 600 bhp just to run it, but it doesn't have to be.

I am just saying that of all the dodgy mods on eBay trying to rip people off, this isn't really one of them.

Wouldn't a fan restrict airflow?

Sorry but I can't see these workin- total waste of cash :arrgg-matey:

Could fit one to a gt4 so you can fit a "twin charged" sticker

Seriously though, ignoring the intake side of things for a minute, the alternator will be working harder so therefore drawing more power out of the engine anyway

i cant say how will that work ,but if you wanna boost your car

you can get it with turbo charger for 500-600$ with GT-28RS,

hi-flow air filter and menifold and exhost system 2.5inch (total of 1000$

and 80-100 HP on 10PSI).
