Extended Warranty...

Guys...

Just to mention...we have had our vehicle for just over a week now...whilst replacing a dead Battery last night...we freaked out by just looking at the engine...a pretty complex machine...not a cm's space to play with lol...hence we decided to go for the extended warranty this afternoon...on the advice of a very helpful forum member and our local dealer rep that we have known for years...and its a buy one year and get the second year free promotion...with a full AA breakdown service for the two years...and an m.o.t guarantee too...so in essence...for us...its all peace of mind...but understanding that service parts due to wear and tear obviously arent covered.

It feels pretty good to know that we're covered...never owned a 2.0 diesel before guys hence the bliss.

I admit that we're yet to read the small print...but as we have a 14 day cooling off period they advised us of ...if any of you think an extended warranty isn't all that...please let us know! Thank you

Think the Toyota extended warranty is about the best one can get, and certainly if you consider two years of Toyota Roadside Assistance is either £136 or £144 depending how one pays for it, the current offer is good value

I did the same for peace of mind really than actually expecting to need it. As I am now a low mileage user iirc it cost me~£519 for 2 years. As Frosty says I would have been buying 2 years of Breakdown & Recovery service from somebody which most likely would have cost me ~£140 anyway so 2 years peace of mind for £380> £190 p.a. or £16 per week.

"The principal exclusions are: consumable items, drive belt adjustments, brake and clutch adjustments, , the replacement of parts due wear & tear, replacements due to breakages or impact, lights, bulbs and headlight adjustment, window or door lock adjustments, paintwork and bodywork, Battery (the high voltage Battery on hybrid vehicles is covered), interior and exterior trim, corrosion to the exhaust, road wheels, "

& remember that you have to have the car serviced by a Toyota dealer to keep the extended waranty valid - but under the Toyota Fixed Price scheme I don't find that too dear. I have a service plan with my dealer though because that worked out even cheaper.
