T27 Drivers Seat Sinking Feeling

I have a 2011 T27 estate still under guarantee (just) and I am having a problem with the drivers seat height, I am having to readjust the height every couple of weeks as it sinks down to it's lowest level, the dealer tells me "it can't do that Sir someone must be lowering it", As I am the only person to drive the car that is impossible, has anyone else found this problem?.

I looked at the lever for the height adjuster, and noticed how easy it is to knock it down to lower the seat. Not saying you have done this, but it is possible without you noticing.

Another more likely scenario is the seat is dropping, if it works on friction to keep it in position. That means the seat is slowly dropping, even though the lever has not been touched. If it is a ratchet system, the hinge nuts may need to be tightened slightly. The same could be said for the friction system.

Nothing is impossible and the dealer should not have dismissed Revbands complaint. The seat has dropped, find out why?

Hi Konrad, While I agree it's possible to knock the lever down, I am sure this is not happening as the lever has a pump action both up and down and its very unlikely that I push it by accident 8 or 9 times.

My current Avensis doesn't sink but an 05 plate T25 I previously owned did. Like yours it took a couple of weeks to sink to the bottom.

Maybe you're not aware of what your hands are doing when you're driving with your head out of the window.
