Loss Of Power N Running Rough 2006 Verso 1.6 Petrol

Hey folks, I have a 2006 corolla verso 1.6 petrol. Started from cold yesterday fine, after 12 miles noticable loss of acceleration and jerkiness when accelerating. Engine warning light then starts flashing. Today ok from cold but only for 2 miles then problem returns and warning light stays on. Changed air filter and cleaned MAF sensor,,,,,,,,, no difference, cleaned throttle body,,,,,,,,,, no difference any ideas on what to try next much appreciated :)

When the engine management light comes on, the ecu stores an error code, so you need to ge those read out to help identify the cause.

You can buy your own reader or any garage should do it for a small fee.

P0302 - misfire on cylinder 2. On investigation rocker cover gasket had gone allowing oil to leak into two plug chambers. One had stopped working, the other not far off. New gasket, plugs and a damn dood clean appea4s to have solved it :)

re the second picture of the engine, for some reason I had it in my head that it was the inlet camshaft that had the Variable Valve Timing (on those engines that don't have dual VVT) but I see it's the exhaust. Sorted!

Hey folks, I'm now experiencing the same problem, and when it's idling it revs itself. Please help.
