Once again motoring journalist "doesn't get" Toyota proposition shocker ;)

All the urban mums buying suggested Ford Kuga 2.0 TDCi 150s for the school run are going to have fun when they discover that

a) they don't do the mpg b ) have DPF etc. problems c) NOx emissions

Just how were they driving that caused a 2.5l to "rev noisily hard"?

Journos do seem to be fixated on engine noise and tone. Even Honest John criticises the Auris HSD for its noisy engine ..... most of the time mine is virtually silent. On the odd occasion when it needs to be pushed for overtaking it is audible and whines a bit but it pulls really well which is far more important to me. And don't get me started on 'soft touch plastics' - another irrelevance for the average motorist looking for a safe, reliable means of transport.
