Outer Handle Not Working But Inner Handle Is

Hi I have a 2004 Yaris T3 edition. The outside handle on the drivers door isnt opening the door when pulled but the door will open when the handle is used from the inside. Just wondering if anyone else had any experience of this and if they knew any fixes/solutions for this. many thanks
