Interior mirror socket

Hi Guys

I have only just joined so this is my first post in the hope that you can help me so thanks in advance. I am thinking of fitting a reversing camera to my Avensis 2004 auto and have seen in various Toyota adverts for recent cars the advantages of using a reversing camera with the interior mirror as the monitor. My car has an auto dimming mirror fitted to it and on the back of it is a 7 pin plug with only 2 wires to terminals 1 and 2 in the plug connected for obviously the dimming function. Terminals 3,4,5, (there is no 6 & 7 pins in the mirror) are empty. My question is after googling for days is can anybody identify what goes where in this plug for the mirror since it would make life easier to fit a reversing camera if the mirror is so equipped without having to fit an additional monitor. I have enclosed a picture showing the mirror terminals to explain.

the screen for the oem reversing cameras tends to be the infotainment screen, not the mirror.

I remember road testing a new 2010 / 2011 Auris which had an OEM  reversing camera fitted and the display was in the rear view mirror. If I remember right it used about one half of the mirror.

Solved

Hello again

Just to update my post. I have since found out that my mirror was from a company called Gentex. I emailed them asking about my mirror and a very nice guy got back to me to tell me that my particular model did not have a monitor built in.

Thanks to for the replies to my post but now I know the situation I will have to have a rethink.
