Yaris Hybrid and bicycles

Hi folks.

A new member - we are expecting delivery of our new Yaris Hybrid next month.  With our current car, a Kia Rio, we carry our two bikes on a Thule carrier on a towing hitch.  We've been told that this is not possible with the Yaris Hybrid.  We've looked at the roof-rack option but being a pair of old fogies, we're not sure we could manage that.  We were wondering if it is possible to fit two bikes and two people inside the car? Anyone tried / succeeded?  Any advice would be appreciated.
