2010 Rav sill jacking points

Having sourced a spare wheel I now need to source a scissor jack for our Rav but there's a detail I'm not sure about. When the official jack is seated on the jack point the seam sits in a groove in the jack saddle. To give me far more options than buying a second hand official jack for £50, I was wondering if the load is on the saddle either side of the groove or at the bottom of the groove so all on the seam?

Thanks

would have thought that you could do better than £50 s/h. If it's the same jack as for an Avensis I have a spare that you could have for less.

However, I am not a big fan of scissor jacks, have you thought about a bottle jack?

I'd just really had a look on the auction sites and they are asking £50 for the kit inc wrench and towing eye.

I hadn't really looked at bottle jacks as I was hoping to source an oem scissor but not at £50 from a scrap vehicle. I have an excellent 1.5T jack but it wont lift high enough for the Rav but there are plenty of affordable scissors about its just the saddle and lift height. If your Avensis jack has the necessary lift and saddle I would be interested thanks.

There's a thread about jacking here that might interest you http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/86533-jacking-damage/#comment-1407056

Also you can go to most motor factors and buy a one and a half ton scissor jack for less than £30. I bought a Sealey and it's OK

I suspect that the fit is the same but the Avensis runs lower than a RAV so not sure about lift.

However, if you already have a towing eye & wheel brace www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2010-2014-TOYOTA-RAV4-ICON-D-4D-2-0-JACK-/161965424705?

TomdeGuerre, that thread  highlights the reason I would prefer  an OEM jack used on the correct jacking points.

Heidfirst, the ICON model is the new shape Rav so I would need to confirm the jacks the same but thanks for the heads up.

Well by checking in the boot storage area I at least saved myself some cash, it has a jack and brace etc in there, could of sworn I checked when we bought it doh. Just ordered a new tyre and spare wheel bag and we are good.
