I need to change the clutch on my 2.2 corrola verso diesel, but I can't get the front cross member off. I got all the bolts out of the sub frame and it's not coming out. I got a small bit if play left to right but nothing to suggest it's coming out. Any advise would be truly appreciated

Don't know if it will help as no idea how different the verso diesel is from the standard corolla hatch, but when I was looking for tips on how to replace my clutch I saw some american ytubes,  with their bigger engines,  where they were able to remove the cross member bolts and just push it so one side, giving  just enough to get the box out.

Perhaps if you look/ search on ytube you might find some good info.

Contrary to some videos , the 1.4 /1.6 standard corolla box / clutch can be taken out without undoing that part  or subframe.
