Rav4 Performance Problems

:help: When I switch on the air con for my 2001 Rav4 there is a significant drop in performance. This is the first car I've had with air con. Is this normal? It feels like you're driving with the handbrake on slightly. HELP !

Air Con will alwys take some power away from the engine as the engine has to divert some power to power the A/c unit, some cars are effected more than others.

You should also notice a drop in fuel efficiency while you are using the A/C although this should be less of a decresae than if you wer to drive with the windows down...

if you notice a pool of clear water under your car, don't worry, its from the air con working
