I´ve bought this second hand car and I left for more than 7 days in my garage without start and now the Battery is weak!

I have a jumper cable and I use to boost other cars with the same cable and it´s worked, but in my RAV4 it´s not working!

When I plug the jumper cable, still weak and it´s not starting the engine! I already tried change the negative connection to engine and screw in the car´s frame, but it stil not working!

Has someone past with the same problem before?

Hi mate, this a 4cc 2.0.

Interesting, a few weeks ago, I tried to help my friend using my car and it was not able to booster his car!

I used another car to help my friend, I've seem it before, completely odd.

Do you have any clue or hints?

Your Battery has shorted. I had this problem a few years ago. It took the RAC guy three jumper cables to get it started. Was the original Battery almost 9 years old at the time.

My initial thoughts were flat Battery. a landrover pulled up and tried to jump start me  but the cables were red hot! Had to stop and call the RAC.

Hope that may help you.

Really!

Do you think it is possible start my RAV with three jumper cables and one strong car?

I'm concerned because in my car park does have electricity to plug the RAC!

Hi Leo.

You can try earthing out your own car by connecting a jumper cable from the negative terminal of the Battery to a nice shiny part of the car bodywork/engine, try swopping it around to see if it helps at all, this will see if your earthing strap to the engine has broken at all but deep down I think you just need a new Battery. If you do decide to fit a new Battery don't leave the keys in the ignition if you have one incase the car locks you out when you reconnect the battery leads or get the RAC or whoever to do it for you.

Or leave the engine running with an adult in and the drivers window open. If you are unable to collect a Battery by any other means. Just incase the car parts shop doesn't have your Battery
