toyota rav hybrid - 2wd vs 4wd

I would like to buy Toyota RAV hybrid. Most of my driving is on roads. Could anyone tell me what are the pros and cons between 4wd and 2wd , and which should I prefer ? Is it more safe to drive 4wd ? Thank you
