Hey guys!

So I've got a 2001 Toyota Corolla E11U and it has 198xxx km driven. I've read somewhere that the engines that went into these corollas (3zz-fe) had a life expectancy of approx. 200000km and I'm beginning to get worried that my so beloved corolla might not last me for as long as I've expected. As this is my first car I've expected it to last until I pass college, but I'm worried it will not. Although a trusted mechanic I go to and my father has been going to for a lot of years keeps telling me that the engine has no issues, I'm still afraid that it might break down soon. I've also heard that these engines tend to have issues with oil leaks and whatnot, but mine doesn't. Anyway my question is...should I be worried that the engine will go out soon or should I expect it to last at least a 100000km more? Thanks

Why should it break down ?

Is the engine exhaust smoking, is the engine noisey , is it overheating,  is it making strange noises ???

Your mechanics says its ok, seems it gets though the mot ok.

Depends on how the car is used, a motorway cruiser can go on for many many miles, a rush hour commuter obvioulsly not as long.

The older Toyotas are generally  kown for being very reliable, thats why Taxi drivers used to use them so much; they should last a very long time is serviced properly

Stop what if -ing and enjoy driving it !
