Corolla TSport 2005 190 VVTLI exhaust manifold with air injection

Hi,

im new to this forum and I have been stuck in some big problem with my exhaust manifold and air injection, at first it took me weeks to find an exhaust manifold with air injection for my car and now that I am so close the holes on the manifold have actually been blocked off. I also am struggling to find a gasket for the manifold I have the old one that doesn't cover the extra air holes entirely, now I'm thinking off just blocking it off completely but am not sure if it will affect the performance off my car also what would be the best way to get it blocked off any quick easy ways I can use?

Thank you so much for your help in advance 😁

What's wrong with your current manifold? Also you should be able to get a replacement gasket from Toyota, no?

Nothing is wrong to be honest, just had a new engine put in the late 2005 model engines which come with the air injection holes now I only found one exhaust manifold with the holes however the holes on the manifold are strangely blocked off now I'm finding trouble getting a gasket for tomorrow as the garage need to take my car off the ramp, what are the dangers off blanking those wholes on the engine block? And is there a specific chemical or piece off hardware I can use to block those holes?

Well in the UK even pre-facelift TSports had air injection ports on their manifolds which mine definitely has. If you mean that you are not running that air injection system on your car then it can be capped off, it's only there for immissions.(obviously if you can run it you should).

Was there air injection on your previous engine?

Thank you for your reply sana I had a 2002 engine before without the air injection ports and now has a 2005 engine with the air injection ports so wanting to blank it any idea what's best to use for the port blanking a plate or the glue that hardens?

So how did you sort it?

Had a mate come and make me a gasket that blocks the wholes and blocked the manifold off then put it all together also have connected a tyfoon induction kit which made the car and its roar sound shockingly good with the racing shocker breaks wheels and clutch and a nice custom with carbon fibre conversion body
