Antenna with aftermarket stereo

I understand the antenna is powered, can anyone tell me how? 4.3 2006 XT4.

I've done a loose fit of a Pioneer stereo and the reception is poor. I've just connected all the ISO fittings and plugged in the antenna. I have power for an antenna coming out the back of the Pioneer but I don't know where to put it.

Thanks in advance.

This may not help you, but useful to know.

Depending on the year, model and equipment fitted, I was told that the roof aeriels provide signals for FM normal radio, DAB and Sat Nav.

I could have been told a load of porky pies though

Very useful to know, thanks. However in my case, whilst the aerial provides good signals for FM radio to the factory head unit, it provides a very poor signal to may aftermarket Pioneer. Hence my wondering if the factory HU powers the aerial whilst my Pioneer does not

You could go a easier route and just fit a discreet windscreen one.  If you get one that has a built in booster, you will have no problems at all.

They only cost about £20 max.

I fitted one in a previous car, albeit for DAB, do a FM one would have excellent reception ... I think.
